My name is Jerome Verdier, I am a seed biologist with a long-term focus on Legume seed biology. My historical research questions have been related to the molecular understanding of major seed developmental mechanisms leading to seeds with high nutritional and germination qualities. Since my recruitment by INRAE in 2017, I joined the SEED (Seed, Epigenetics, Environment and Development) lab focusing on how the abiotic (heat, drought) and biotic (seed- and soil-borne pathogens) stresses impact seed quality and how to make seeds more resilient to climate change and more resistant to pathogens during seed germination and seedling emergence.
