Full Professor at the Institute for Sustainable Agriculture, CSIC, at Córdoba, Spain. Research interest in legume breeding and agronomy. Current Secretary and Treasurer and past President of International Legume Society (2012-2016) and of the European Association of Grain Legumes Research (2008-2013) and past member of the Executive Committee of the Int. Parasitic Plant Society (2005-2011). He is Chief Editor of Frontiers in Plant Sciences section Plant Breeding, editor of Agronomy for Sustainable Development, of Field Crops Research, and others.
