    Biography

    Jose C. Jimenez-Lopez, PhD
    Tenured Scientist at CSIC & President of the Spanish Legume Society.

    BS in Biochemistry in 1998; BS in Biological Sciences in 2001, and MS in Agricultural Sciences in 2004, all from the University of Granada, Spain. Ph.D. in Plant Cell Biology from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in 2008. During 2008–2011, Dr. Jimenez-Lopez was a full-time postdoctoral research associate at Purdue University, USA. From 2012 to 2015, he was working as Marie Curie Research Fellow (EU - FP7 work-program) at the University of Western Australia and CSIC. 2016 to 2021 he developed his research career as Ramon y Cajal Research Scientist at CSIC.

    Currently, he is the president of the Spanish Legume Society and a tenured scientist at CSIC, working in the functionality, health benefits, and molecular allergy aspects of seed proteins from crop species of agro-industrial interest (mainly legumes).

    He has co-authored more than 110 peer-reviewed scientific publications, including more than 75 journal articles, 30 book chapters, 1 international patent (Ref. WO/2006/089980), and more than 130 international congresses. He is an active member of different scientific societies as ILS and editor of multiple books. He is a board member of 7 scientific jounals from editorial as Frontiers,... and review panel member form funding-grant proposal of different institutions as ANEP, SAS - Spanish Health foundation program, DAAD, EU-HORIZONTE 2020, etc...
